About the site

Official Sub-title: “If you’re about to get, currently getting, or have previously gotten, an MBA, please stick around!”

If you’re here and you haven’t figured it out yet, this blog is geared toward people who’ve been admitted to an MBA program but haven’t started yet (a group I’m going to call “pre-MBAs”).  My goal is to share as many of my experiences and those of my friends, classmates, colleagues and everyone else I’ve ever met who has been to b-school to help you prepare in every way imaginable for what lies ahead.  If you’re wondering why I feel like I’m a good person to write something like, you can find an answer here.

Specifically, based on my experience and research, my focus is going to be on those of you preparing for full-time, two-year MBA programs here in the U.S.  But that doesn’t mean if you’re not in that group, you shouldn’t stick around.  If you’re headed to an accelerated one-year program, a program outside the U.S., or a part-time or evening program, hopefully you’ll find some information here that’s useful to you.

Also, it’s my hope that both people currently in b-school (a group I’ll call “current MBAs”) and those who have gotten the degree and graduated (“post-MBAs”) will also participate in the discussion, posting their own experiences and advice.  I realize expecting busy people to come and share information without any direct benefit has a “pay-it-forward” feel to it, but let’s see what happens.

Finally, I anticipate that people who are considering getting MBA but haven’t yet applied, taken the GMAT, etc., might also find some of what’s in here helpful and if you’re part of that group, welcome and feel free to ask questions and post comments as well.

Now, if you’re still here, I’d like to make a decidedly non-legal, non-binding agreement with you and here it is:

I promise to share experiences and information intended to help the readers of this blog and facilitate the discussion by asking for feedback and responding comments and in exchange, you promise to read the posts that interest you and speak up if you have questions and/or comments.

Easy enough, right?  Oh, and if you find what I write helpful, please feel free to integrate it into your prep for B-school and pass it on to your friends and future classmates if you’d like.

Thanks for reading!
